The Assistant Commissioner for Regulatory Boards (“Assistant Commissioner”) approved the proposed rules at the rulemaking hearing conducted on Monday, June 13, 2022. The rules were filed with the Secretary of State on July 26, 2022 and will become effective on October 24, 2022. The rules have been filed as Rulemaking Hearing Rules and will be promulgated ninety (90) days from the filing date.
This rule allows members of the United States armed forces and honorably discharged veterans to obtain credit towards licensure for programs listed in Tenn. Code Ann. § 4-3-1304(a) under the Regulatory Boards Division for equivalent military training. The rule provides a process and acceptable documentation evidencing proof of eligibility along with a procedure for the appeal to the Commissioner for any denial of equivalent training towards licensure.
